aniline leather available on

After much searching, touching, and experimenting, I have a new love in my life, and it's aniline leather. And I'm using it on all of my new bags and wallets!

Aniline leather is different than a lot of other leathers. Most of the time, leather is colored and coated for both aesthetic reasons, and to conceal blemishes. Aniline is a clear and transparent dye that allows the grain structure of the leather to be seen and felt - leaving a buttery soft feel and beautiful colors. This means only the highest quality hides can be used to make aniline leather.

The other thing that I love about aniline leather is that you can't fake it. Patent leather, for example, can be easily confused with cheaper, imitation leathers made with plastics. Leather with heavy top finishes, like the the leather you find in a lot of automobiles and boats, is another leather that can be easily 'faked' with pleather.

All high quality leathers get better over time, but aniline dyed leathers develop a uniquely beautiful patina. Once you hold a bag made from aniline leather, you won't be able to stop touching it! Check out what's available…
